CHRISTMAS
Our hearts are full. We are truly grateful for a loving Savior and Heavenly Father who knows us and knows our needs. Our needs are so different this year. Erik's needs are unlike any other time in his life. It doesn't matter what's under the tree this year. Our Christmas wish is good health and happiness. We feel blessed that we are on the right track... with knowledgeable docs who care about Erik and want the best for him.
I enjoy turning on a Youtube Christian Message often... and this is the one I watched this morning.

So many tender mercies:
- Decent health insurance
- Several Jobs going...It's awesome considering the lack of construction work in this area the past several years.
- Reliable people to keep running things while Dennis takes off work to be with Erik (thanks Tim)
- Dependable and loving Young Women leaders to keep the young women's program afloat so I can concentrate on my family.
- Older children to fill in the gaps to help take care of Justin's needs
- A distraction of happy and exciting times of Hayden asking for Ashley's hand in marriage!
- Another happy distraction of Brooke and Tim expecting another baby!
- AND, speaking of distractions.... little 19month old Camden, busy little energetic boy running all over the place from one captivating object to the next.
- Chris and Allie living nearby (in Cedar) and with the holiday break... Chris having a little more free time when he's not working... to spend time with Erik and to help be "muscles" around the house.
- Erik's surgery was the day after he finished his last final.
- The surgeries are happening during a lull in Precision's work. There are several jobs happening, but a few things were kicked back to do more preliminary things on them which doesn't require as many hours and people.
- My knees haven't hurt as much lately!
- It's SNOWING! as I type... Erik just called out with excitement from the other room! He was a little frustrated because he's been more conjested. We are learning! We gave the humidifier a rest during the day yesterday, and know that we need to run it more often for him. He's feeling happy now. He loves the snow!
- So many people have checked in with us, sent messages, came to visit or sent something through the mail to wish Erik and the family well. We are surrounded by wonderful friends and family.
- We have had good roads when traveling. We travel in between storms.
- A feeding tube. Ya, it's a good thing. Erik is getting the nourishment he needs to aid his body in healing.
- Free Shipping. Yes, it's a tender mercy. Before the surgery I was able to find many of the Christmas gifts for the kids and others... online... for decent prices and with free shipping. Because we need to keep life going on somewhat normal for the other kids... so there are some presents under the tree.
- Stay at Home Mom.... blessed to be able to flexible and available to take care of not just Erik's needs but the others as well.
And then, if thou endure
it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes.
Thy friends
do stand by thee, and they shall hail thee again with warm hearts and friendly
hands.

Picture from last Thursday... getting to leave the hospital!
Bound and determined to place a present he's giving to Ashley
under the tree on his own. I offered my help... but he did it!
Walker, tender left leg and all!
