2nd IV... gone!
Doppler leeds...gone!
Sweet!
Erik is getting rid of tubes and wires and drains. Phew. He's progressing. He has one IV left, along with his oxygen finger glove and then his feeding tube. He will come home with his feeding tube. He is getting great nourishment! And he doesn't complain about the hospital cafeteria. haha... his food comes in a can called Jevita! Actually, they have a really great cafeteria (The Bistro Café) at Huntsmans! Great selection. Dennis and I have a hard time with bringing back our food and eating it in front of Erik. He says he doesn't mind... but I think he does, so we eat it in the room but not next to him. The rooms are quite spacious.. and so it's ok and the smell doesn't bother him much.
He's able to speak a little more. He has to hold his finger over the trachea site to make his voice work. Pretty awesome. It's interesting to me that they didn't stitch it closed. It does have a nice little gauze bandage on it.... thank heavens. It will just heal on its own and very quick too.
Erik surely appreciates everyone's prayers and thoughts and messages. Wow... it's been wonderful to see the support. It's been an uplift. Thanks, from Dennis and I, too.
We might get to come home tomorrow! We'll see how the rest of the day goes and how well his night is. It could be Friday. Erik is anxious. As his mother... I am wanting to make sure his body is ready. There are many wonderful knowledgeable people here that have degrees and really know how to care for him. I'm getting more knowledgeable... but am a little scared to be in charge of this guy. Good thing I have Dennis! AND... we do get to have home health come in....so phew!
The holidays are fast approaching... looks like we'll have a white Christmas from last night's storm? Hope so! I hear we got dumped on! Yeah! I know Justin is probably excited!

And would you take a LOOK at this....
YEAH! Congrats to Tim and Brooke!
