Up north

So the latest with our dear Erik boy... is that we are headed up north to the Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake.  After being referred several times, and all the doctors saying the same thing about going in and removing tissue and lymph nodes and some cartilage and whatever whatever.... I'm not a surgeon, so I'm not speaking very good medical lingo.... haha.... But the facts are this.   Scans don't pick up teeny tiny pieces.... I thought they did... dangit!  That's why they slipped by with the past two summer's tests.  Since there was still cancer in there and not clean margins with the excision in January... and the question being.... "do you want to have a 30 percent chance of being ok?  Or do you want a 100 percent chance?"  So with another surgery.... that's what Erik is going to do.  Not looking forward to another surgery, another recovery period, more school days missed, more activities missed, more late nights and pain meds... but it is what it is.  And we are again, putting our faith in the Lord to carry Erik through... to carry us all through.  We like this doctor.  He is caring and takes time to talk and answer questions and doesn't just rely on his own thoughts, but consults with his collegues and the best of the best which are on the tumor board... so we feel like Erik is in good hands.  We are grateful for Heavenly Father's hand in this and continue to pray that all goes well.
