Huntsman Hotel

Is there such thing as a 6 star rating for hotels?  haha What a sweet hospital!  The staff is great, the doctors, nurses, room service, housekeepers and well, everyone takes their "nice pills" on a regular basis.  Yes, I said room service.  Erik has a menu that he is able to order from all day anytime from 7am to 9pm.  With a phone call away, food is delivered by really nice people and the choices are awesome and very delicious.  And they aren't supposed to accept tips.... or the valet parking attendants either.  We are spoiled.  I'm glad he is being spoiled because he deserves it!  He's been through a lot.  The rooms are big and we have been able to stay with him the entire time.  They have guest laundry and bathrooms with showering and family kitchens, etc.  It helps make a trying experience a little less stressful.

So ERIK has passed all the tests to be discharged.  His pain is minimal and he's able to get up (slowly and carefully) and take short walks.  We will probably get to go home today.  Tomorrow for sure... but since it is a 4 hour drive, it depends on his strength in the next little while.  Our regular doctor hasn't come in yet for the day.  Some of his collegues came in earlier at 7am to check on him and are happy about his progress.  Erik is amazing.  He tries his hardest to keep pressing forward.  He is so grateful that his voice works and is clear and that he is on the road to recovery.

Other surgeries in other hospitals, Erik was a special case because of "cancer" and here at Huntsman, everyone is dealing with the dreaded disease.  As I see others and their families... my heart goes out to them.  Erik's situation is easy-peasy compared to theirs.  There's a sense of comradery, too.  We are all humbled by our similiar circumstances that there is a relaxing peaceful feeling in the air.  I am so touched by the paintings and decor and the rooms with nameplates stating the donors. So many good people using their wealth for good causes to help people from all over the country.
