The 2 1/2 hour drink...

Erik has the privilege of receiving an IV infusion every couple of days to rehydrate his body.  There is a large divided room full of comfy recliners at the Infusion Clinic in the new part of the Hospital where Erik gets his infusion...it really does takes 2 1/2 hours... at least.  But with a good book, an Ipod, a cell phone and sometimes a nap, it helps the time pass.  The fluid has really helped him.  His new nausea pills help, too. Soft crust pizza has been a favorite lately.  It's exciting to see him be able to eat something other than his carnation breakfast drinks and Ensure for his own sanity.  Eating slowly and drinking lots while eating helps the food go down a little easier.  He has lost some of his hair in the back...just a cute little notch....but that's all.  He won't lose his full head of hair.  This is the last full week of treatments...then just 3 more next week.  Yeah!

Ashley ran in her first track meet of the season last Friday (just a small dual meet with Canyon View).  It was somewhat cold as the sun was starting to set, but she did great!  She ran an awesome mile and a great 2nd leg of the 4 X400 relay.  She's feeling great and ready to rock and roll this season!  The Hurricane Invitational is this weekend and will have 25 or so schools to compete against.  It will be good to see what you are up against for the season.  Ogden usually comes down and they are good competition!  They have a good track team...but Cedar does too!  We'll see!

Another SUPERIOR rating in piano festival for Justin!  Hard work and practicing pays off!  Justin sounded really good and played his pieces just right for the judges.  Way to go!  And thanks to his amazing teacher, his oldest sister, too!  She's been awesome!  We'll miss her teaching, but her plate is too full to keep teaching piano.

Something fun that we have tried lately is "Bountiful Baskets".  Lots of yummy fruits and veggies for just 15 dollars.  Oh, my...they are so fresh and it's a surprise to see what we get.  This week we were surprised with kiwis, too.  Yummmm...love kiwis!  We are loving eating more veggies & fruits.  Yesterday, I cooked zucchini spears and asparagus in the oven basted with olive oil and garlic salt...just until tender...oh, they are yummy that way.

It is nice to have work...and it's even nicer to have work right here in Cedar.  Dennis turned in the best bid package for the new City Ball Field lights and Concession Stand.  After a few weeks of deciding...It was awarded to Precision Development...Yeah!  We are so blessed with work!
