Erik's surgery on Monday was successful.

Chest tube and pump. Measures how much fluid is being drained. A lot the first and second, then it dwindled to nothing... which was the plan.
It was a lot harder of a recovery than he expected. At one point with his comical sense of humor, he said, "I was tricked!" Anyway, he is recovering. The lung thing (pleurodesis) attached. It did what it was supposed to do. It's amazing at what modern medicine can do for a person today. Purely awesome. He did come home with oxygen. His lungs are tired and this helps.
He had great care at Dixie Regional. It was neat to see familiar faces, too. People from Cedar that work there. One a nurse and another an aide.

Chest tube
He enjoyed having visitors every once in awhile too. It made his 4 day stay just that much better. There were times he felt bad if he wasn't too talkative or smiley. I told him he had ALL reasons to and to not worry about it and concentrate on healing.
There were times he was feeling decent enough to grade papers. He is a TA for his USU Communications Dept. Everything is online and he gets paid by the hour.

Good TV! haha.... We couldn't resist keeping it on Sesame Street to watch this fun Star Wars segment. haha
He came home Thursday afternoon. His doctor gave the go ahead to remove the chest pump tube Thursday morning and if the xray looked good... then he would be good to go! And so it happened. Dennis brought Erik home. Erik was so elated!
Dennis and I took turns staying with Erik overnight. Dixie Regional is very accommodating to allow visitors to stay.
Since Erik has been home... he has a chance to rest more, sleep in his own bed and chill without being poked or prodded. haha

Grayson smiles all.the.time!
Little Grayson turned a year old on Wednesday! My how time flies! He is such a fun little guy. And he is quick! He's not walking yet.... he doesn't need to... he scoots and crawls easily enough and FAST. He's also a great climber! It didn't take long for him to master stairs up and down. When he's here at grandmas, we now have to remove our loft ladder. Otherwise, he is on his way UP! I am so glad we didn't secure it permanently. Grayson loves his brothers and they love him. It's so cute to watch them interact and play with each other.

Happy First Birthday little man!
|
Yummmm.... Cake cones!

Justin and I waiting and waiting and waiting at the doctor to have his knee checked. Good thing for a good charged phone to keep busy while waiting. Doctor says... ya... no more football. It's too difficult of an injury to heal in time. :(
