Bone graft

Erik was given the option of having his surgery this week instead of next.... So here we are up at Huntsman. The surgery took about 2 hours or so. Such exciting news is that they didn't need bone from his hip. Yay!  In seeing the MRI and CT scans, the gap wasn't was big as was presumed. However the surgeons used cadaverous bone with growth stimulate to fill in the space.  So the healing process will be much quicker than he was preparing himself for.  Eerik is doing good.  His neck hurts, and that's a given. Thank heavens for pain meds!  Erik is one tough guy.  He should be able to go home tomorrow!
Dennis and I had a neat experience meeting someone in which I will have to write about in another post when I have a bigger keyboard and screen..  I am using my "little tablet" and its tricky to type on & it takes me forever just to type this. Haha...   I am learning!   And I love having it!
