 The First Lap.... Survivors' Lap
Hola! Erik!
Erik was interviewed by a member of the newspaper staff.  Sure enough, in Saturday's Spectrum was a spot on Erik and a picture.  Way to go Erik!  You are incredible and should be recognized for your strength and great attitude.  I have noticed several things about Erik through all this.... one of them being that he is more caring and conscientious of others and how they are doing.  His friendly personality is just beaming.  As his mom, I get many people telling me how kind he is and genuine toward others.  When I grow up, I wanna be just like you, Erik!
We all took a few laps... except Brooke... she's 'with child'.

Due next month!
Famous Relay 4 Life Supporters.  Iron County's Relay 4 Life was able to raise a lot of money this year.  And thank heavens the weather was warm for everyone, especially those staying through the night to continue to walk laps.  There were lots of teams and many individuals who came to support.  It seems as if every family has at least one relative, distant or immediate that is inflicted with Cancer.  Some were there to jog a pre-determined amount of laps... And one neighbor we chatted with was there to put in 20 miles for the evening and be back at the stadium at 6 am the next morning.  Amazing.  There were teams with tents set up to spend the night with at least one person walking and trading off with the others to continue their walk endlessly.  Food booths and games were also set up with all the funds going toward the fight of Cancer.  There was even a WII system set up with a projector and screen!  How fun!  We had a great time and were very happy to be there to celebrate with Erik.
Wall of Hope!

So, so very grateful for life.  And so grateful for a 2nd chance at life, great doctors and caregivers and technology.  So many supporters at the event that have lost loved ones to Cancer.  May the fight continue.  We are so very blessed that Erik has a clean bill of health.  His next complete scan will be late summer.  We continue to pray that this Cancer will never return.
